In today’s digital world, students are constantly exposed to misinformation. Teaching them to think critically and evaluate sources is essential. Join the Texas Council for the Social Studies and the News Literacy Project on August 19, from 6:30–8:00 PM CT for a virtual session with educator Erin Olson.

This session will focus on helping students question what they see, read, and share. You’ll explore how to use Checkology®, a free browser-based platform, to support media literacy and informed citizenship.

Participants will:

• Learn strategies to teach source evaluation
• Integrate media literacy into existing curriculum
• Develop a plan for using Checkology

Participate in a Q&A with Erin Olson

Let’s prepare students not just to consume information—but to challenge and verify it.
