The TCSS Stalwart Mini-Grants are awarded to enhance the quality of social studies education. Up to four $500 teacher mini-grants will be awarded each year. One is awarded in memory of Jean Lantz. Applications for the grant funds should illustrate how the funds will be used to enhance the quality of social studies education. The funds may be used to purchase curriculum materials for use in the classroom and/or to cover training/conference expenses not covered by other sources. The funds are not intended to be used as a donation(s) to the campus or school district.
If approved, the grant recipient is asked to submit a lesson or article to The Social Studies Texan, or lead a professional development session (i.e. at the fall TCSS Conference or district training). Upon completion of the training, or submission of the article, documentation should be sent to the scholarship committee chair.
